Hi, just to let you know, The Boogie Man Will Get You is on Netflix if you have an account. So is Mad Love. :)

I know what you mean about a wish list. I'd love to see Crack Up. I may have to rent the Peter Lorre A&E biography from Netflix again just to see the excerpts, lol.

Thanks. I've rented them both from Netflix.
Was hoping they could be made available for
the free IA community.

Many thanks, guys! I more or less expected this outcome, though I did hold out a slim hope that at least one of these gems would be available for the Archive. Oh well.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm pleased that you find the reviews useful. Thanks also to the members who have given me download suggestions.

I'm fully in favor of copyrights and intellectual property protections, but it's a shame that so many of these classics have become tied up in meaningless copyrights. Gems like "The Mask of Dimitrios" aren't available from any source - free or paid. They aren't broadcast or on DVD. For all intents and purposes they can be considered lost films. This situation is getting worse, not better, now that Netflix seems to be bailing on its commitment to making some vintage films available. More of them are dropped from their lineup every day.

So I'll continue to post wish lists for our excellent uploaders. Who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky once in a while.

Have you looked for this movie in binary newsgroups?

Good suggestion. Unfortunately I stopped subscribing to newsgroups some time ago. The problem was and is time - I don't have enough of it. Between work and other obligations my plate is much too full. Well, maybe someday...

Giganews is a good provider for binary newsgroups. Their retention is over 600 days.

While the movie version of Mask of Dimitros may not be public domain, the 30 minute radio version done by Greenstreet and Lorre is:

Thanks so much! I've seen parts of Mask of Dimitrios; Greenstreet and Lorre should have had even more movies together. ;)
